We've spent the last several days in Sausalito and San Francisco, traveling back and forth by Ferry.
By turns, it's been windy and foggy or sunny but cool.
We've covered a lot of miles on foot.
Here are some of the sights we've seen:

I will not be sorry to leave him behind in Sausalito when we depart for Point Reyes.

| Goodbye COOky and good riddance! |

Great shots and thanks for the memories of a much loved city. i would dearly love to be there again.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your trip!
You do take the most awesome pictures. Wow. Adore the water pics and got a good chuckle about COOky.
ReplyDeleteWish I could balance on one leg like that.
LOL - those birds can be very very noisy, can't they?
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots - so glad you're having a wonderful time.
lovely photos, as always! making me want to plan a san francisco trip- sans COOky, of course.
ReplyDeleteOoooo! lovely fresh photo's, nice to see a little of SF again, spent a little time there years ago.
ReplyDeleteI believe it was mark Twain who said something to the effect of "the worse winter I ever sent was a summer in San Francisco." Still, I think it is a lovely area. I really like your pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Barb! I especially love the light shining through the leaves at the Palace of Fine Art and COOky. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Barb!!! Looks like you are having an incredible trip! Wonderful weather we are having too!!!
ReplyDeleteSweet hugs,
Sierra Rose
Wonderful shots. Looks like you are having a wonderful time. Enjoy the week (and no Cooky).
ReplyDeleteCalifornia beauty!
ReplyDeleteYou have a way of capturing the essential parts of a place. I see so many layers in each photo, especially the one of Palace of Fine Arts. Thanks for sharing your well trained, artistic eye with us.
ReplyDeleteWow, clear and sunny! I hope the rest of your vacation is the same.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of steps. How often did you climb those?
Bloody birds!
ReplyDeleteIt's the sun that wakes me so early now. I miss sleeping in, even though I know I'll get lots of opportunity come fall.
Lovely photos.
I was in San Francisco in 1969 at the ripe old age of 18, it is fun to see that it hasn't changed that much. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb -- these photographs are lovely. I would love to see these sights in person. You are so fortunate!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying seeing the sights with you, even if just virtually. :)
Hello, Barb!
ReplyDeleteThank you for many beautiful photos. I really enjoy them.
The sunrise under the lots of clouds and the reflection on the calm water is beautiful.
Golden Gate bridge and the sailboat reminds me of my trip to Seto bay last spring.
Seto bay was blue and beautiful too, and a small boat was sailing under Seto bridge.
I am recovering from my asthma. The last one week was spent in my bed and very boring time for me!! Now I am happy. I look forward to take a trip with you from now!! Barb.
Tomoko.
If it was a sweet chirp in the morning, I do not mind.
ReplyDeleteNice panoramic view of the bridge and the ocean. How I wish to visit the Palace of Fine Arts someday.
Lots of stairs, yes, alot of stairs we did in today's hike, they reminded me of you.
Ah Barb,
ReplyDeleteyou are are having a great trip! My favorite photo is "Twilight from the Ferry," It makes me think of romantic films & sailing off into the sunset!
I've actually never been tp Pt Reyes, but have wanted to go. sooooo, can't wait for your pics!
FUN!
What a beautiful place to visit. I'm glad that you've finally gotten nice weather. I hope that it's warm and the sun shines on you at Pt Reyes. I didn't love my years living in the Bay Area but Pt. Reyes was an oasis that I loved.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photographs. Now just thinking.... who invaded whose territory? Maybe COOky was trying to get rid of you? Sorry s/he disturbed your sleep. But you did get a beautiful sunrise photo!
ReplyDeleteyou have taken some fabulous shots of this region. I shall be seeing the pink ground cover tomorrow, I hope they are still there :)
ReplyDeletei would love to see what your lens will capture in point reyes. its one of my fave go to places when i have free time on the weekends.
Always enjoy your photos!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your day...from sunrise to sunset...The Twilight from Ferry photo sets such a mood of quiet peacefulness, Barb...unlike COOky!
ReplyDeleteAh, poor COOky means no harm, although I can imagine his cooing is an aggravation.
ReplyDeleteLove the first two photos. Hope you're enjoying all the walking and sightseeing.
Barb...too funny about that Cooing pigeon! Better rest awaits, I pray!
ReplyDeleteThat sunset, behind the island, wow!
Glad all is well, you'll have to let mw know when you reach the Portland, Oregon area. I had to cancel horse camping trip- there is a virus outbreak for horses. My stable is in"lockdown"for coming going to populated horsey areas.
You sure make me want to go there. I have seen now the beauty and heard from others how wonderfully beautiful it is.
ReplyDeleteLovely post . Stunning photos.
I've always thought SF is the prettiest city in America. Used to visit often when I lived in Palo Alto. But I never really liked the cool damp weather.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. Cooky looks like he could be a pest.
ReplyDeletehi girlfriend, i will love following you around this spring. your photographs continue to amaze and inspire me. lucinda b. rabbit should not be worried about ruby thursday. ruby likes to put out the "vibe" that she's in charge around here and only patrols ... she is not allowed to cause problems : ) i really love your tulips in the snow. have fun and belly dance. xoxo.
ReplyDeleteCOOky just didn't want you to miss any of his beautiful city ;>)... I am loving your trip (going backwards through it as I catch up -- but that makes no difference to how beautiful your posts are!)
ReplyDeleteYou've documented your journey with so many fantastic images, including COOky!
