Bob and I celebrated our 45th Wedding Anniversary on August 14.
We began "going steady" as Sophomores in High School.
Seven years later, after graduating from college, we married.
So, altogether we've been a couple for 52 years.

As you can see, I really haven't aged much since the day I walked down the isle in 1966.
Though I'm actually 6 months older than Bob (he enjoys telling people he married an "older woman"),
he looks a bit more his age.
All that wind and sun have taken a toll!

On the other hand, I've always tried to keep myself dewy and fresh - the years have been good to me.
Tonight, the celebration continues at a center-city restaurant.
I only hope we can avoid the Paparazzi!

Congratulations! You do look great. I always knew you were a legend.
ReplyDeleteYep, you are very dewy and fresh!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you two. 45 years, 52 years, however you want to count it, that is great.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBob's handsome, you're beautiful (even your REAL SELF!): you are the perfect couple.
But I imagine you know that after all this time.
Oh, you are too funny, Barb... I mean Norma Jean. :) Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteGiggles! You can hear me laughing out loud!
ReplyDeleteI like that, dewy and fresh!
Congratulations Bob and Barb! Here's a toast to both- life and love!
Would you mind passing on your dewy fresh secrets Barb? And is the twinkle in Bob's eyes and the smile on his face the result of a fabulous cheesecake or a magnificent marriage???? Charles and I send best wishes for your happiness...
ReplyDeleteWith all the biking and hiking you two do, you can afford that decadent looking dessert. I've put my groom of 45 years on a diet as he is not getting enough exercise these days.
ReplyDeleteMay you and Bob enjoy many more anniversary celebrations!
Happy Anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteMy, you have held up rather well, do you use Pond's?
Congratulation. Is this you on the picture or Marilyn Monroe?
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
You look great, you must tell me your secret. I hope you're happy! (Looks like that can really be tough on a girl.)
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, what a great photo of Bob eating that mousse with berries, mmm. It really says a lot, just his smile, his patient fork, that strong hand, a very big dessert plate. It tells me: we are hapy, comfortable, and we live well. Congratulations on that, my friend.
LOL - you DO look good! So does Bob.
ReplyDeleteHere's to many more happy years!
Seasoned with wit and humor, trust and affection. Really looks like perfect couple!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you and Bob, congratulations!
I wish some of your happiness would rub off on us, my husband and me.
Happy Anniversary Barb and Bob. Carol
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Bob and Barb!

ReplyDeleteGeez, you look different than you do in your sporty clothes!
ReplyDeleteTh best to both of you.
OH, that's fabulous! Congratulations! And I, for one, hope the paparazzi DOES find you! You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! Hope the celebration was as good as that cheesecake. I can't believe the size of those blackberries.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! And girl you really do look great after all those years ;>)...
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine staying together after starting out "going steady" in your Sophomore year. Oh wait, that's EXACTLLY what people have told us for almost 54 years! (So I guess we too must have done something right -- or been lucky!)
Thanks for sharing!!
Barb, I almost didn't recognize you in that 'red lipstick'. The years have been good to the both of you! I'm sorry I missed this yesterday...my eyesight must be failing in my old age, unlike you, we all can't remain dewy and fresh! Richard was a Junior and I was a Freshman in high school when we started going steady:)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great anniversary!
cute post! Congrats on the long term relationship, Barb. You've obviously kept your friendship strong and your interests close.
ReplyDeleteI think you look great, even when you're not doing your Marilyn imitation!
CONGRATULATIONS lovely Barb, what an amazing achievement xxx Oh how I love your sense of humour too :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Barb and Bob!
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful couple.
Love your great sense of humour. Lol!
Best wishes,
Sonia.

ReplyDeleteHappy 45th anniversary, Barb and Bob! Your last year's post about the anniversary is still vivid in my memory - I can't believe one year has passed already, time flies. In the process of aging, something's lost and something's gained but you two look getting better with age. Barb, you're beautiful, wonderful, and precious! :)
