45th Wedding Anniversary!

Bob and I celebrated our 45th Wedding Anniversary on August 14.
We began "going steady" as Sophomores in High School.
Seven years later, after graduating from college, we married.
So, altogether we've been a couple for 52 years.

As you can see, I really haven't aged much since the day I walked down the isle in 1966.

Though I'm actually 6 months older than Bob (he enjoys telling people he married an "older woman"),
he looks a bit more his age.
All that wind and sun have taken a toll!

On the other hand, I've always tried to keep myself dewy and fresh - the years have been good to me.

Tonight, the celebration continues at a center-city restaurant.
I only hope we can avoid the Paparazzi!

  7. With all the biking and hiking you two do, you can afford that decadent looking dessert. I've put my groom of 45 years on a diet as he is not getting enough exercise these days.

    But seriously, what a great photo of Bob eating that mousse with berries, mmm. It really says a lot, just his smile, his patient fork, that strong hand, a very big dessert plate. It tells me: we are hapy, comfortable, and we live well. Congratulations on that, my friend.

    Can't imagine staying together after starting out "going steady" in your Sophomore year. Oh wait, that's EXACTLLY what people have told us for almost 54 years! (So I guess we too must have done something right -- or been lucky!)

  27. Barb, I almost didn't recognize you in that 'red lipstick'. The years have been good to the both of you! I'm sorry I missed this yesterday...my eyesight must be failing in my old age, unlike you, we all can't remain dewy and fresh! Richard was a Junior and I was a Freshman in high school when we started going steady:)

  31. BOY oh BOY I am SOOOO LATE! here it is the 17th and I am finally logging on and reading blogs! I did remember your anniversary, just sort of passed me by so fast! We were in SLC over the weekend and at the docs for Bob's 1 year heart check-up! awesome news...he never ever wants to see him again.....his exact words. HAPPY LATE ANNIVERSARY MY FRIEND. We are so blessed to have such awesome men in our lives! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and can't wait to see the pics of your fun visit to the city...hugs...
