What gorgeous captures, Barb!! And such a beautiful little guy! I love the delphiniums and the rich purple color!! Hope your week is off to a good start! Enjoy!
That is exactly what a garden should look like. It couldn't be any prettier.
I like your little visitor. Do you know what kind it is? Carol, from Flower HIll Farm posted hummingbirds today, too. What a lot of beauty I have seen today!
How cute, I love to see the hummers at the flowers. Just beautiful. The yellow trees are gorgeous, are they aspens? Wonderful photos, thanks for sharing your world.
You and your camera are a great pair Barb. Isn't it wonderful that we can witness this little fellow in action through your marvelous shots, something that we could not do in real time.
The garden still looks green and colourful...time yet to enjoy autumn colour.
What a lovely woodland setting. So very pretty. How nice of you to supply a fly through diner for the weary travelers. I leave my feeder up for those passing through.
That hummer is running really late. I'm so glad that you had fuel for her. One year, we had a "black chinned hummingbird" show up at our feeders in late October. He stayed for a few days, refueling. I hope that he got back on course. I've never seen one again since.
Your garden is spectacular. The combination of yellow aspens and vibrant flowers is inspiring!
Wow positively amazing hummingbird photos! By the way I think you visited my neck of the woods not long ago at the weather was lousy. It never got any better if that's any consolation.
You still have flowers blooming, amazing. I suspect when we go tomorrow to winterize the cabin I will find that all the aspen are bare and there will be snow on the ground. Down here in the lowland we may see some hummers all winter as folks keep the feeders full and freezing temps don't persist.
What a beautiful capture! I have to tell you something, 2 summers ago, it was sooo hot, it is always hot here, but we didn't know a humming bird was trappedin out garage and could not get out and unfortunately this tiny little bird with no escape died. We found him in the morning. I just could just toss him in the garbage so I put him in a little box and set him aside. I know this sounds totally horrible, but, this little bird just petrified...because of our heat, but his beautiful feathers and wings were so pretty, I kept him! honestly...I still have this tiny little beautiful bird. Is that weird? Even today the colors of his feathers are so vibrant! purple, tourquoise, blue, green...these are amazing little creatures....
Dear Barb, Love these photographs....Our Hummers left a couple of weeks ago. Your woodland garden is beautiful and the Hummingbird is the icing on the cake! Sherry
All the little visitors stopping on their way south. We had a visit from at least a half dozen robins today. Goodbye, robins. Travel well. (By the way, your hummingbird photos are exceptional.)
Wonderful photos, Barb. Such a beautiful contrast of bittersweet. I too had this same feeling as I watched the Sandhill cranes fly over our house yesterday afternoon.
He's a fat little guy! Unless he's just got his feathers fluffed out :) Looking forward to your next snowy post Barb- since we got a little snow last week- I am sure you got quite a bit! We dipped below freezing in town last week, but now it's sunny & in the hi 60's! Hope you are well.
How sweet! I guess he will be back next year.

The sweet nectar would meet its needs as it wanders far away.
ReplyDeleteFallen it may be, the garden still shows the prime of its beauty.
No train service this afternoon for whatever problems, took the bus and made the trip home in 2 hours.
The hummingbird has a lovely way of saying goodbye! And, how nicely you captured a bird in action in the air, Barb!
ReplyDeleteHave happy days ahead.
