LIfe at High Altitude in Colorado

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Lucinda's Adventures in AZ

Hello to friends near and far!

I can't wait to tell you what I've been doing.

The Sonoran Desert is in bloom.

I'm (almost) speechless at the beauty.

I've seen lots of critters in the desert.

Most are too busy flitting or eating to talk to me.

However, I was thrilled to meet Jack, one of my desert relatives.

Besides hiking, I've been working on my tan at the pool. This is my friend, Diana, swimming with me.

Even in the desert, I've found delicious veggies.

I've also been partying a bit.

Just between you and me, Barb's a bit prickly. She's been scolding me for going off the trail. She says I won't see the rattlesnakes if I'm smelling the cacti flowers.

Look how cute I am. Who or what would want to hurt me?

So, for now, I'm saying goodbye to you from AZ. I'm enthralled with the desert.

Tomorrow, Barb, Mary, and I are heading to UT. I've heard the canyons are spectacular!

Love to All, Lucinda B. Rabbit

(Remember - naughty is nice!)

  1. Oh my, Lucinda! what a wonderful trip! Spring in the desert is just beautiful. Glad you're traveling with such good companions and that you got to see some relatives. Keep an eye out for your second cousin twice removed-not sure of his first name but his last is Jackalope.
    Enjoy and tell Barb hello.

  3. Lucinda B., you really have been having a wonderful time. I too am addicted to desert country and am featuring some of ours from our last two weeks there.
Love all the flowering cacti and those magnificent bird high-rises.
Don't be too naughty and let Barb enjoy herself as well.

  4. I can see you girls are having a lot of fun smelling the cactus. But Lucinda, don't give your heart away to the first Jack you see. The desert will be redder in Utah.

Thinking of you so close and yet so far away.

  12. Too bad you and Jack are related. He certainly was a handsome bunny. What beautiful scenery you are enjoying. And no, that last photo does not make you look fat. Veggies ,swimming and running around have kept you quite slim. Looking forward to your next update.

  14. Lucinda, please don't try and scale the shear cliffs of Zions National Park. Stick to the trails. Let those crazy kids do the climbing.

  19. Hi Lucinda, It really is a spectacular place. I'm glad to see you had a chance to meet one of your cousins. Don't forget to put on sunscreen when you are working on your tan! Barb is right about rattle snakes. You wouldn't want to be snake food. Party on, but watch your step!

Barb is a blessed woman to have such cooperative friends in her blogging. Will you tell her that blue cap and wear suit her? Enjoy your journey!

  37. Hi, Lucinda,
I am happy to see you enjoying your adventure!!
I am very surprised to know a desert is not a desert but a hidden paradise which has nurtured a lot of critters.
Especially, the carpets of yellow petals are awesome!
Barb seems to love you so much. Who can resist your cuteness!
I would like to watch the sky that you are watching side by side.
