LIfe at High Altitude in Colorado

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Celebrating Innocence

"Grammy, I'm wondering, do you talk to birds and animals?"

"Well, yes, Jack, I do."

"What do you say?"

Well, sometimes I talk softly and just say, "Hello" or "Be safe" or "Come visit me again."
Other times, if I think my voice will frighten them, I just think the words and don't say them aloud.

"May I put out a treat for Gray Jay and see if he understands me when I talk to him?"

"Hello Gray Jay.  Please wait until I tell you to take the treat."

"Fine by me Jack.  Just give me the OK!"

"Be my guest, Jay. I'd like to be your friend."

"What a kind boy you are, Jack!  It was a pleasure visiting with you."

"Thanks for the yummy treat! I'll definitely drop by again."

On August 14, Bob and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary at Beaver Creek, CO.

You can be sure I talked to the animals.

Hard to believe, like you it will be just four more years until Jules and I celebrate 50. It seems we have always been together yet it seems like yesterday.
