LIfe at High Altitude in Colorado

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Ski Season Begins, Breckenridge - Skywatch

Sunny skies in Breckenridge for a week.

Peak 8

The ski resort opened on November 8.

Our Grandchildren are the third generation of our family to ski.
From young to old, we're having fun!

  2. Wow!! Helluva sky! So deep a blue -- did you have a polarizing filter on the lens or was the color enhanced post-processing? In any event, eye popping! BTW-- are you the fox in the orange ski jacket?

  3. Well it certainly looks as though you're having fun! How great that all the grandchildren enjoy skiing as soon as they are big enough! I never took to this sport at all, but I did enjoy the cross-country skiing and then took up Nordic pole walking! Enjoy yourselves! You're in the right place for snow!

  7. You enjoy!!! Me...I'll take the cold front we had move in yesterday...and return temps of mid-70s today. Balmy winters after 40+ years of Colorado winters was/is/has been enough for me. LOL

  8. How fun that you can ski with your grandchildren! I noticed the local ski hill was making snow here this week, too. I snowshoe and cross country ski so it will be awhile before there is enough snow in the woods.

  9. That first picture should hang in the chamber of commerce office. I so enjoy this season for I get to enjoy vicariously what I am to chicken to try. Its not the skiing that gives me pause but riding those darn ski lifts to get to the slopes. Sigh.

  10. I would truly enjoy the scenery but am not pulled by the act of skiing. More by the act of seeing. lol How wonderful that you enjoy the sport.

  16. Beautiful Barb. The blue sky is stunning. I don't know how much skiing I will get to do this year, but I expect it will be mostly with my little grandkids who are just learning instead of trying to keep up with the older kids.

  18. Beautiful photos of snow-covered landscape and family pleasure. There’s nothing so exciting like a snow day. If it snowed in Nara, I’d be busy to have fun as much as possible. On the contrary, there’s nothing so depressing like freezing rain. Today’s morning was so, but it’s going to be fine. You look so nice in your red jacket, Barb.
